Honey Sunflower Ricotta Toast – Celebrate the late-summer warmth with this protein-packed and naturally-sweetened breakfast treat!
This spring each of my two sons planted tiny and awkwardly-placed sunflowers in my front flower bed. As the summer has worn on they have slowly grown taller and taller into two rather large awkwardly-placed plants.
Their blooms are finally taking shape. And even though they have thrown off my garden feng shui I’m looking forward to two big, beautiful, end-of-summer yellow blooms.
The whole thing reminds me of just how much I love sunflower seeds. That’s where the inspiration for my latest recipe for ricotta toast came in.
This simple Honey Sunflower Ricotta Toast is easy to toast up and assemble in minutes. The combination of toasted sunflower seeds and fresh honey is sweet and salty. It’s so good that it’s practically glowing with end-of-summer local farm treasure.
Another thing I love about Honey Sunflower Ricotta Toast is it’s high in protein and it’s naturally sweetened. Perfect for energizing your morning, or giving you a sweet afternoon pick-me-up!
